We are excited to announce that we have employed a new Women’s Support Worker to join our team! This week Stephanie Clark (who is married to our Auxiliary Outreach Worker Mark Clark - both pictured below) joined our Street Connect family!

This position will be a great asset to our team and allow us to expand our work with women in addiction and other life-controlling issues. Specifically Stephanie's role will allow us to reach out to more women in the City Centre and also to help with the support of females in our Clydebank drop-in.

Our Development Manager Julie McAddock talks about her passion and drive behind expanding our reach in this area: "The women’s work is so close to my heart because I know what it is like to be hopeless and then to get my life back. Both Angela (Auxiliary Women's Support Worker) and Stephanie have been in the despair of addiction and have known what it is like to come through all the trials and to be where they are today. I am excited to see more women find freedom in the coming years through this outreach.

"One of our visions is that one day we will have a women’s refuge where women can come, with their children, and get the help they need. We want to support and enable them to get from where they are, to where they need to be."

This vision to help and support women in the bigger picture is a step by step process, and we're so thankful to have Stephanie on the team to enable us to pursue this help and support in our communities.
