Support us Give Hope this Easter Give Hope this Easter This Easter you can help someone like Geoff take the next steps in their journey of recovery Just a few years ago Geoff’s life was in shambles. He was going through a bad patch and was drinking a lot. He was in a relationship that did not work out and his partner left him with a lot of debt. Then one day, Geoff came to our drop-in café in Paisley. This is where he got to know our Street Connect workers Adam and Julie. They helped him on the long journey to recovery from alcohol addiction. In fact, if it wasn’t for Street Connect and for caring supporters like you Geoff’s life would have been on a downward spiral of disappointments and despair. Today Geoff is living in a Street Connect flat and is proving to himself that he can get his life on track by getting his (Level 7) Community Achievement Award through Glasgow Kelvin College. Also, he is volunteering at The Olive Tree on Tuesdays and at Glesga Roasters on Wednesdays. His dream for the future? - To keep moving forward in life and gain paid employment. At Street Connect we know that supporting and encouraging people to break free from addictions and to move forward one step at a time can truly transform their lives. We see this happen all the time. But there's a catch. As Geoff experienced, people in addiction are often unable to move forward alone. They need someone to listen to them, pray with them, to support them and to help them to rebuild their lives. However, where there's a catch, there's also an opportunity. And this is where you can play a vital part in helping someone like Geoff to take the next steps in their journey towards a better life. Please give hope this Easter: Will you seize this opportunity with us by giving to Street Connect today? Here is how you can help: £18 can provide a warm welcome, a hot drink, and a plate of food to someone who comes to our drop-in café sessions looking for help on how to get their life back on track. £55 or even £110 can ensure that someone who is struggling with addiction can receive one-to-one support, as well as practical help on how to get into a rehabilitation programme. £760 or more can make it possible for a group of men who are taking new steps towards a better life to spend ten days learning new life-skills like budgeting their monthly allowances, painting, and decorating etc. For Geoff and other people in addiction, all that is standing between them and a better life with gainful employment is lack of adequate funds to enable our workers to continue to support them But you can change this! Please give the most generous gift you can to Street Connect today to see more lives transformed for good by God’s love and your compassion and care. Thank you!
