Fundraising During Lockdown

There are loads of fun ways to raise money for Street Connect without going outside. Here are just a few things you can do on your own or with the family and raise money from the safety of your home. You can get families and friends to donate directly on our website by creating a fundraising page.

Below are some ideas on ways you can fundraise with the people you live with
  • Dress Up Day for adults and children - wear your finest clothing and invite your families and friends to watch you (via zoom/skype/whatsapp or other platform) do a fashion show and encourage them to donate to Street Connect some of what they would have spent on food and drinks on a night out.
  • Sleep Out (INSIDE) - how about making space inside the house and sleep on the floor with makeshift of cardboard boxes for one night or if you have a garden, do this outside and get families and friends to sponsor you and you can give them updates - *PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ONLY RECOMMEND TO DO THE SLEEP OUT IF YOU ARE WELL ENOUGH TO DO SO - WE SUGGEST A MAXIMUM OF TWO PEOPLE IF HELD OUTSIDE IN YOUR GARDEN AND CHECK THE LATEST NHS ADVICE.*
  • Get the whole family to wear funny/ridiculous outfits - while cooking/gardening/watching a movie together or exercising indoors and get families and friend to donate some of the money that they would have spent on cost of commuting
  • Be Active! Why not try:
    • Join the 2.6 challenge! - From Sunday 26 April, the day when the Virgin Money London Marathon would have taken place, join the rest of the UK for The 2.6  Challenge. The 2.6 Challenge can be any activity you like – from running 2.6 miles to holding an online workout with 26 of your friends. Check out their website for more details!
    • Daily Mile around your garden - run round your garden and see how long it would take you to run a mile each day for a week and get families and friends to donate for every mile you do.
    • Trek Ben Nevis with friends and families - ask friends and families who have stairs to join in this adventure of going up and down stairs to reach the summit and back - following the mountain track, it is said that it takes around 7.5 hours to the summit and back and it is approximately around 8.5 miles - you can do this in relay and get sponsored by mileage or distance.
    • Bike-a-thon - if you have a static bike, get families and friends to sponsor you for every minute you stay on the bike.
    • Are you a talented musician - why not treat families and friends to a concert online and get them to donate some of the money they would have spent at the cinema or theatre.

Already doing a lockdown fundraiser for us? Let us know by sending an email with a link to your fundraising page and some photos to: [email protected] - We'll share them on our social media and encourage people to support you!
