The people we work with have been among the most at-risk during the Coronavirus. Thanks to our generous supporters and funders, we’ve been able to adapt our services and continue providing essential support over the last few challenging months. We’ve now moved into the next phase of our response – restarting street outreach and some face-to-face support– and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us out at the height of the crisis.

Thanks to the Scottish Government, the Corra Foundation, Tesco Bags of Helpand others, we were able to keep on our staff, provide a range of remote support, and even grow our team in response to increased demand. Through providing funding for car hire, an emergency staff role, and smartphones and tablets for those who lacked the means to stay in contact, the National Emergencies Trust enabled us to safely deliver food, devices, and other essentials to participants in need during lockdown. Grants from funders such as the Zuill Trust, the Aviva Community Fund, the Edward Gostling Foundation, the CAF Coronavirus Emergency Fund, and others helped us cover essential operating costs which underpinned the success of our frontline Covid-19 response.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated to our Covid-19 Emergency Appeal, or supported us in any other way during this time – without you, this work simply would not be possible!

Adam, a Project Worker on our staff team, says: “The funding we’ve received has been brilliant. I’ve been involved in delivering devices and other essentials during lockdown. The provision of smartphones and help to set up internet access allowed many to stay connected when they otherwise would have been completely isolated. Several of these guys have really advanced in their recovery during this time, thanks to the remote one-to-one and group support we’ve been able to give, and many of them would say it has been a real lifeline and kept them sane. Thank you so much to the funders and individuals who have given.”

One of our Aftercare participants, who recently started volunteering with us, says: “[Street Connect] has been a great support to me. I have met new friends, laughed more than I thought possible, especially now during this lockdown. We have zoom meetings (I’m zoomed out!), telephone support, and there is a true sense of family. This is what I've been seeking all my life - to be valued, to be appreciated, part of a family.”

This is the impact that your donations and grants have had during this time – from all at Street Connect, THANK YOU!
