News and events News Celebrating 3 years a registered charity On the 23rd of May 3 years ago Street Connect was officially registered as a Scottish Charity (SC044879). It has been a fantastic journey, considering the work only began the previous year, on the 4th May 2013 as an outreach cafe for Glasgow City Church on a Saturday Evening. We thank God for the many lives touched over this 4 year period, and the many more still to be reached. In the past year we have increased our staff team to 1 full time and 6 part time, as well as having a worker from Bethany Christian Trust with us for one full day a week. We have also just purchased our first property, which will be used as a move-on flat for people resettling back into the community after a time in residential rehab. We started our first drop-in in one of Glasgow's most deprived areas, Possil Park in partnership with Clay Community Church in January this year. We are in the process of looking to start a similar project in Govan. We have seen a number of men and women make positive changes in their lives and made some real improvements in the way we operate. We have also introduced a befriending programme to better support our clients, and look to bring in more volunteers. We are excited to see what the next year will bring, as we look to increase the number of people we reach and also increase our staff hours to accommodate this growth. Please keep the work in your thoughts and prayers.
